And
the winner is ...Carmel Sepuloni.

In
a hotly contested contest Carmel Sepuloni edged out Phil Twyford and Hamish
McCracken and Ann Pala to gain the Labour nomination for the Waitakere seat
for the 2011 general election.
The campaign was a fascinating one with Sepuloni and McCracken and Twyford showing distinct strengths that could have served the electorate well. Carmel has an important role to play with the pacific communities in the west.
McCracken also has skills and IMHO spoke best of all of the candidates, if by a whisker from Sepuloni and Twyford. He is a clear thinker and is a trained economist. The party should use his skills and he should be offered a high position on the list.
Twyford has
a significant role to continue to play regionally and should continue to
be high on Labour's list.
